This colorful cityscape painting was inspired by a photo of a light (sent to me), seen while leaving home for a quick grocery run. This was in the very earliest days of the California lockdowns when the skies were crisp and clean. Up against the foothills in La Canada, it was still early Spring. The air was misty and the warm glow of these lanterns contrasted beautifully with the infamous purple-blue of the San Gabriel Mountains.
This is an original acrylic and gold leaf painting on paper from Teale Hatheway’s Community Light Series. The work is 12”x17” on heavyweight, vellum-surface paper. Signed front. Signed, titled and dated on back.
